Breastfeeding may be natural but that doesn't mean it's easy for everyone.
Hi. I’m Emma Pickett, certified lactation consultant and author.
I know how frustrating it is to be told five different things by five different people. Finding the right support from someone able to devote time to your situation sometimes seems much harder than it should be.
I became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant in 2011.
I recertified in 2016 and 2021 and I offer voluntary support at groups across West Haringey and volunteer on the National Breastfeeding Helpline and ABM national helpline alongside my private lactation consultant work.
In 2022, I was honoured to receive the Lactation Consultants of Great Britain award for outstanding contribution to breastfeeding.
How can I help you?
In-person and remote options
My packages include in-person sessions in London N6, remote options and on-going email and phone support.
I charge £100 for a 90 minute session at my consultation space in North London.
I can also offer a video consultation using Zoom for £80 (of up to an hour).
You can also join me for a walk in the woods for £40. This is an experience that gives an opportunity to talk about breastfeeding in a relaxed natural environment.
Ending Breastfeeding
If you are looking to end your breastfeeding or chest feeding relationship, I am happy to support you. Lactation consultants are often associated with getting breastfeeding established but we understand that stopping breastfeeding can also bring significant challenges.
I am able to support you whatever the age of your child, although my particular expertise is when children are 18 months or older.
Free support
I volunteer regularly at a group at the Hornsey Central health centre, N8 on Friday mornings. I am also at Highgate International Church, N6 on Tuesday mornings. However, spaces are limited to Haringey residents and must be booked through Haringey Breastfeeding Support on Eventbrite.
I offer some free and reduced cost private support options each month. Please contact me for details.
